girldrive

Rachelle and I were interviewed for GIRLdrive, an amazing project by Nona Willis Aronowitz and Emma Bee Bernstein.

We were interviewed at JP Licks in Jamaica Plain.  We ran into my best friend Stefanie and her boyfriend outside!  I love any city where I can run into her by accident.

|ˈbīsikəl|

Just back from The Hub, where I got the brakes replaced on my new/old bike.  The bike is a long-term loan from Nathaniel who will be cruising around the world for awhile and can’t take it with him.  Natey, riding this bicycle is like floating atop of a sea of light blue cotton candy.

ISEA 2008

Packing for Singapore is going slowly.   So far I have packed: a pink dress, a purple bandana, a universal plug adaptor, and a camera.  That’s all I should need, right?

Conference info here.

maybe one of the coolest things I did at RISD

Screaming into molten glass, over a year ago, for a piece by RISD Glass professor Jocelyne Prince.  (After the glass cools, you can see the sound waves.)  Full piece here.

Upgrade! Boston

Rachelle and i will be presenting our collaborative work in late October at Upgrade! Boston.

About Upgrade! Boston:
Upgrade! Boston
is a monthly gathering of artists, curators and the public that fosters dialogue and creates opportunities for collaboration within the new media community. Hosted by the Studio for Interrelated Media at Massachusetts College of Art and Design, each meeting consists of one or two hour-long presentations interspersed with questions and comments from the audience. The events are informal and free. Founded by Turbulence.org in January 2005, Upgrade! Boston continues to grow as a local node within the global Upgrade! International (UI) network. It participated in the first UI gathering at Eyebeam, NYC in September 2005, and contributed artwork, a workshop, and two talks to the 2006 gathering in Oklahoma City.

Upgrade! International Mission Statement: Upgrade! is an international, emerging network of autonomous nodes united by art, technology, and a commitment to bridging cultural divides. Its decentralized, non-hierarchical structure ensures that Upgrade! (i) operates according to local interests and their available resources; and (ii) reflects current creative engagement with cutting edge technologies. While individual nodes present new media projects, engage in informal critique, and foster dialogue and collaboration between individual artists, Upgrade! International functions as an online, global network that gathers annually in different cities to meet one another, showcase local art, and work on the agenda for the following year.
